Meet The Doctor

Alison K. Garrad, DDS

Dr. Alison Garrad is passionate about meeting her patients’ needs, whether that’s through clear education, gentle support, or dentistry designed to stand the test of time. With over a decade of experience, she loves building lasting relationships with patients and helping them feel comfortable every step of the way. One of her favorite parts of her work is being part of a caring, fun team while helping patients improve their dental health and find real relief when they’re in pain.

Why Did Dr. Alison Garrad Become A Dentist?

After college in California, Dr. Garrad returned to Texas to be closer to her family. She worked in logistics and then pharmaceuticals, but eventually realized she wanted to help people one-on-one in a more direct, meaningful way. While volunteering at a small clinic in north Dallas that offered both medical and dental services, the dental team needed help one day, so she stepped in.

She assisted dentists as they removed painful, infected teeth for grateful patients, and she was struck by how quickly the team could improve someone’s quality of life. That experience inspired her to pursue dentistry and build a career centered on care, compassion, and lasting impact.

Where Did She Study Dentistry?

Dr. Garrad completed her undergraduate education at Stanford University before enrolling at the Texas A&M College of Dentistry, where she graduated in the top 5% of her class. She has since completed advanced training focused on Invisalign and dental implants.

She is an Invisalign Certified Provider and earned the pre-doctoral award from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Garrad also pursues continuing education through organizations like Spear Education so she can continue bringing modern, evidence-based care to every patient she serves.

Outside Of The Office, What Does She Like to Do?

Dr. Garrad is married to Thomas, a physician assistant in orthopedics, and they have two little girls, with another baby due in November of 2024. She loves spending time with her family, including her parents, who live nearby and sometimes stop by the office to say hello.

When she’s not in the office, Dr. Garrad enjoys birdwatching, exploring the outdoors, baking sweets, reading, and growing her coral garden in her saltwater reef tank. A couple of fun facts: she can speak Mandarin and also holds a private pilot’s license.
